Country Manager and Representative for Sudan
Samir is a seasoned development professional with a focus on food security and data analysis. As the Country Representative and Manager for i-APS in Sudan, he brings extensive experience in applying quantitative methods to inform evidence-based decision-making.
Prior to joining i-APS, Samir served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Studies at Sudan University of Science & Technology and as an economic and business advisor in the private sector. He holds a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Germany.
Samir's expertise extends to developing practical training materials and learning products in the agricultural and livelihoods sector. At i-APS, he has successfully expanded the organization's operations in Sudan, overseeing a team of over 23 consultants and 80 field researchers, trainers, and capacity development experts.
Currently, Samir is leading 6 TPM and research activities and supervising a team of 12 team leaders and eleven senior members, including a team of over 145 Sudan Field Monitors. His strong leadership skills and technical expertise are invaluable assets to i-APS's work in Sudan.
